LOCAL. Makii buys the (FSC) wood from the Forestry Commission. They cut down trees to keep forests varied and future-proof for people, plants and animals.
SOCIALThe wooden animals are produced by Stichting Stunt, a social enterprise from Delft for people who (due to circumstances) are not yet ready for regular work. The finishing is done in Penitentiary Institutions. Prisoners learn professional skills here and receive industry-recognized certificates, giving them the prospect of a job after their incarceration.
