How do I take care of myself during my pregnancy?

Yeeyy! Congratulations. You're pregnant. As a pregnant woman, you have quite a lot going on. A human being is growing inside your body. How crazy is that! Not only can this be very tough physically, but also mentally. That's why I'm going to tell you a little bit more about it. 

Mommy grooming 

It is incredibly important that you take good care of yourself. The better you take care of yourself, the better your baby can develop. Here are some tips for taking good care of yourself. 

  • Go for a walk.
  • Go for a swim.This can provide a nice and relieved feeling if your back is bothering you. 
  • Take a nice (not too hot) bath. 
  • Have a pregnancy massage. 
  • Keep your feet well elevated.
  • Sleep out while you still can. 
  • Take plenty of rest. 
  • Don't strain yourself physically or mentally.
  • If you are stressed, have a massage or a nice bath.

Pregnancy glow

When you are pregnant, the amount of blood in your skin increases. In most women, this makes the skin beautiful, But in some women the opposite. What is very important is to take extra good care of your skin. Here are some tips:

  • Wash your face only with water or a soap-free gel ( The washing gel you use for your baby can also be used for yourself. It's natural and gentle. )
  • Use a good day cream. 
  • Exfoliate your skin once or twice a week.
  • Do not get into a bath or shower too hot.

Can I prevent stretch marks?

Unfortunately, you cannot prevent stretch marks during pregnancy. It comes with the territory. Striae are subcutaneous scars. However, you can reduce the scars by using certain oils. As you rub the skin with oil, the skin becomes more supple, making it stretch along easily. Just make sure you use this regularly. 

What should I not use?

Some ingredients are so harsh and effective that they can penetrate the bloodstream. The chance is not great but of course you do not want to take any risks. For these ingredients you have to be careful:

  • Glycolic acid
  • Retinol
  • Salicylic acid
  • Hydroquinone
  • Alcohol-based perfume

  • Shopping with girlfriends.
  • Go for a walk.
  • Hold a baby shower.
  • Decorating the baby's room.
  • Make a plaster belly.
  • A weekend getaway with girlfriends or your partner. 
  • Keep a 9-month journal.
  • Read a fun book.
  • Take a fun pregnancy class.
  • Plan a girls' night out. 

Can I exercise during my pregnancy?

The answer is short and simple. Yes you may exercise while pregnant. It actually has a lot of benefits. You stay healthy and fit and it is also good for the baby. Women who exercise during pregnancy will also experience fewer pregnancy ailments. Here are some helpful tips for exercising:

  • Don't train the full 100& keep it at about the 70% mark.
  • Don't exercise for more than an hour at a time. 
  • Drink plenty during exercise.
  • Listen carefully to your body.

Here we are. 9 months later, now you are due to give birth. Even though pregnancy sometimes feels like a burden, many women still experience the lack of their pregnancy once they are settled with their little one. So enjoy it while you still can and make the most of it.
