How much baby clothes do you actually need and in what size? Of course you want to have your little one's wardrobe in order before the birth. You don't need a complete seasonal collection, but you can never have too many rompers, pants and cardigans. Babies tend to spit up and diapers aren't always as "waterproof" as you might expect, either.
Buy baby gear online is a great option. The same goes for your baby's clothes, of course. But how much should you order and in what size? A newborn baby is usually a size 50. Of course, you don't yet know exactly what your baby weighs. That's why it's good to have some size 56 baby clothes on hand as well.
How much and which baby clothes do you need?
For babies up to 6 or 7 pounds, clothing size 50 is good. For bigger babies, you may need a size 56. Premature babies naturally have a small clothing size. A baby in the first weeks then often has a size 48.
The clothes you buy for your baby also depend on the season in which he or she is born. So a winter coat or airy t-shirt may be unnecessary. Don't buy this for later either. Chances are your baby simply won't fit into it by then.
